What we do

Heating and cooling services for Central Texas homes and businesses

Symptoms

Common AC and heating problems we get called about

Cooling season

  • System runs all day and still cannot hold the thermostat setting
  • Air from the vents is barely cool
  • Outdoor unit hums but the fan will not start
  • Ice on the indoor coil or the refrigerant line
  • Water in the pan or a stain on the ceiling below an attic unit
  • Breaker trips shortly after the system starts

Heating season

  • Blower runs but the air is not warm
  • Furnace lights, then shuts down after a minute
  • Heat runs constantly and never catches up
  • Persistent burning or electrical smell
  • Heat pump running auxiliary heat in mild weather
  • Ice that never clears from the outdoor unit

Guidance

Repair or replace? How we help you decide

A repair makes sense when the failure is a single component and the system has years of service left. A replacement makes sense when the equipment is past its service life, the failure is major, or the refrigerant is no longer produced.

We look at four things with you: the age of the equipment, what actually failed, the refrigerant on the data plate, and how many repairs it has already needed. Then you get the repair price and the replacement scope side by side instead of a single recommendation with no context.

How it works

How requesting service works

  1. 1

    Call or send a request

Call for anything urgent. The form is the fastest way to get a non-urgent quote request in front of us.

  2. 2

    We confirm the details

We follow up to confirm your address, the equipment, the symptom, and a time that works.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis at the home

A technician verifies the complaint and measures the system before recommending anything.

  4. 4

    You approve the work

You get the cause, the options, and the price in plain language before any repair begins.

Year round

Cooling in summer, heating in winter, one company

Technician checking gauges on a residential gas furnace and air handler

Central Texas asks a lot of cooling equipment and then hands the heating side a cold snap it has not prepared for. We work on both, so the same company knows your system in August and in January.

That includes gas furnaces, electric air handlers, and heat pumps, plus the shared parts that affect both seasons: the blower, the ductwork, the returns, the thermostat, and the drain system.

Commercial properties too — rooftop units, split systems, and scheduled maintenance programs for offices, retail, restaurants, and light industrial space.

Maintenance

Keep the system ahead of the season

Most failures we are called out for in August were visible in April as a weak capacitor, a fouled coil, or a slow drain. Seasonal maintenance is the cheapest part of owning an HVAC system.

Book a single visit for AC maintenance before summer, cover both seasons with whole-system HVAC maintenance, or put it on a schedule with a maintenance plan.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if my AC is running but not cooling?
Check that the thermostat is set to cool, replace a dirty filter, and look at the outdoor unit to confirm the fan is spinning. If the coil is iced, the breaker keeps tripping, or you hear grinding, shut the system off and call us.
How do I decide whether to repair or replace my HVAC system?
Age, what failed, the refrigerant type, and the repair history all matter. A capacitor on an eight-year-old system is an easy repair; a compressor on a fifteen-year-old R-22 system usually is not. We give you both numbers so you can compare.
What is included in an HVAC maintenance visit?
Cleaning, measurement, and testing: coils, refrigerant charge, electrical components, motor amp draws, drains, airflow, and thermostat operation, plus written findings on anything trending toward failure.
How often should my heating and cooling equipment be serviced?
Twice a year for a full system: cooling in spring and heating in fall. Heat pumps benefit most, because they run in both seasons.
Do you offer emergency service?
Yes. HVAC Done Right is available 24 hours a day, every day, for heating and cooling emergencies across our service areas.
What should I look for when choosing an HVAC contractor?
Ask how they arrived at a diagnosis, whether a replacement was sized from the home rather than the old unit, what the warranty covers on parts and labor, and whether you get written findings. A contractor who measures and explains is worth more than one who quotes fastest.
How do I request service in my city?
Call for anything urgent, or send the quote request form with your city or ZIP. We cover Austin, San Antonio, Cibolo, Timberwood Park, Kyle, Bastrop, and Elgin, Texas.
